May 28th – June 3rd -$5,158.75

A second week of losses and a repeat of last week. I was sitting very comfortable on Saturday afternoon, close to $150,000 again for the season with some very big AFL bets to go. Everything went down hill from there and Sunday continued the carnage. An unlikely hero in Golf saved another huge loss for the week. Add in a horrendous Horse racing week and the total amount lost at one stage this week was well over $30,000. Once again my own stupidity cost me big time and this weeks loss should actually be a profit.

This week saw me cross the $4,000,000 bet mark. My main goal this season was to turnover $5 million and return at least 2% for a $100,000 profit. With only a month left I won’t be reaching that goal but at least my current return of 3.35% has given me the profit I was hoping for. That’s close to 7,000 bets over the season at an average of $600 per bet.

Readers continually email me asking how I have the time to place so many bets while also working a normal job. I keep telling them that it takes literally no time at all to find the best odds and place the bets. As I am writing content for the upcoming course I realise that a lot of things I do seem normal to me now, and the lessons I have learned over the years to speed up everything should be a great help to many of you. It’s hard for someone who is a little more experienced to break down what he does for a new user as to him it is basic common sense but when I think back to how I used to do things and how time consuming they were I have a laugh at myself. This experience has been good for me as I will be preaching stuff that I know is right but I don’t actually follow myself anymore. As I have a sizeable bank now, I don’t really set banks correctly or have a float or any of the very basic things I will be telling you to do. For example, all my Sportpunter models have their own banks and Kelly fractionals, instead I really should have one big combined Sportpunter bank and then change the Kelly based on how confident I am in each service. I then should be using a moving updated bank at the end of each week. I will move to this new system this week.

As is evident every week, I’m still making mistakes at this game. I guess it’s the early release time for AFL and I had not had my customary cup of coffee before placing the bets this week. Instead of placing the line bet on Adelaide -8.5 I instead placed it on Gold Coast +8.5. I only realised my mistake when I went to place the H2H bets. By then (about 2 minutes later), the line had moved to 11.5 and I had to accept my mistake and hope for the best as I did not want the chance of middling and losing both bets. Right there was the $8,000 turnaround that would have turned the week into a profitable one. It’s the second time this season I have made the same mistake. The AFL lost $10,300 this week but that is only down to my own stupidity.

Sadly the other Sportpunter models didn’t fare much better. Until today when I entered in the results for the ATP, I thought I had a good week at the French Open, but wow, I was wrong, losing $5,050. The Rugby and NRL also lost small amounts of $500 and $300. The only bright spot was the MLB totals, winning $3,200. This goes against everything I stand for, but I have started a $100 multi on each days MLB totals. Earlier in the week we had a perfect MLB day and the multi would have paid $68. There have been a few other perfect days since the model started and I thought for a bit of fun and hopefully some profit, I would start putting them into one big bet too.

ClubGOWI had a better week and has made some solid plays in the WTA. I believe he also did very well at this years Australian Open betting on the Womens tournament and we have a big bet on Errani to win the whole thing. We also finally hit a Golf winner with Matsuyama winning on the PGA tour.

ProComputerGambler had a losing week for me with a loss of $200, but if I was able to place all the bets then it would have been a profitable week. Sadly the emails come at 3 am my time and the early games start around 5am, so I have no chance of placing these. These were the big winning bets this week. The bot is still being developed and will be a very welcome edition to my betting arsenal. The other MLB system had a much better week with a $700 profit.

Finally we have the golf and Jason kelly had another losing week, down $400. The great news was I started following the Betswot resident tipster and the timing could not have been better. In the European tour I had all 3 players in the playoff and the biggest payout off the three was the one who won. A $4,800 profit in it’s first week with a ROI of 796%. It makes things so much easier when you are betting with profits. I’m sure Jason will hit a winner soon and I’ll be loving golf again. I left Nics picks last week and he has also been on a tremendous run. If any of you took my advice last week then you would also be starting with a big win as he also picked the winner of the PGA tournament. I just have to laugh at missing that email as right now I would be loving the service and be in a healthy profit. Ahh well, nothing can be done now.

So another losing week and just one month left before I start a new spreadsheet. The ridiculous thing is that I concentrate way too much on the yearly profit figure instead of the overall profit. In year 5 I will make more of an effort to look at the long term trends instead of worrying so much about the short-term. Hoping for a quick turnaround in fortunes this week.
