A third disappointing week in a row. Have just finished watching the Melbourne cup, a race I never bet on, but this year I chucked $50 on a few outsiders. Did not do too well.
The MLB season has ended and what an ending. I thought it was all over in Game 6 and was looking at a nice profit on the Texas win. But they somehow managed to lose game 6 and then game 7, which instead of a $1000 profit for the final week ended with almost $2,000 lost. H2H for the season ended up $5,544.49 while Totals ended $4,239.10 in profit. A grand total of $9,783.59 for the year. Nothing like the $26,600 made last year, but still a profit. I will continue next year at the same stakes.
The Tennis season is winding down and the results the last few weeks have been very poor. Since the awesome US open and reaching a high of $45k profit, it has dropped $9k in no time. Another $2,400 lost this week, mostly due to opposing Kvitova all week.
Last week I forgot to mention I have started following NHL totals, NBL, NBL Totals and NFL Totals again. NHL has been poor, but NBL and NFL have been going ok early on. These will be updated weekly like everything else from here on in.
Not many bets over the weekend for Soccer, but a few close results not going my way resulted in a $1,700 loss.
Horse Racing made $1,000 profit.
It’s coming to the end of the season for a lot of sports I bet on so over the next few months there will be fewer bets. No more Baseball, Tennis, the NBA lock out is still going. I feel like I should be finding new things to bet on, but I think my portfolio is pretty solid at the moment. So nothing will be added for the rest of the year. I don’t feel I really need to add anything at all for quite some time. After a year and 4 months I think for the first time I have a good set of models in place for 2012 to be a very profitable year, and knowing my luck, the Mayans will be right and it will be our last.
Another milestone of over $4,000,000 bet now. Still have no idea if this is a viable profession with only 0.8% ROI.

Do you think its possible to use a SP subscription wisely on Central European time? Are the release times just geared to the aussies as its an aussie site?

I’m not sure on your time difference so can’t give an exact answer. It depends on what sport also.
Tennis is uploaded a few hours before the first match. As the tour goes around the world, some months I need to bet early in the morning, other months late at night. The last month has seen the bets being released at 5pm.
NHL is at 6pm each day (aussie time), NBL is around the same time on game days. AFL was midday a day before the first game. They are all different, some would be fine for Europeans, others maybe not.
The other issue is how quickly the prices move. With AFL you need to get on pretty quickly, MLB I noticed that the quicker the better as well. But lately Tennis and NHL don’t really move all that much once the tips are released.
Sportpunter has a forum and there are a few European members, I suggest joining the forum and asking them for their own experiences, people on the forum are always happy to help.
