I am so excited to announce that my first idea has been picked up by one of Australia’s biggest and best bookies. Just over a month ago I posted my idea of a cool feature that bookmakers could add to their site to not only make more money but also get new customers. The general idea was to allow anyone with an account to buy their friends a multi bet. Just like you would buy a friend a lotto ticket, instead you can now buy them a multi bet that is much more entertaining and has a much better chance of them actually winning something.

Later this afternoon Sportsbet will be starting a big media campaign around this new feature. Yes, you are going to see even more Sportsbet ads on the television now. You may have noticed the cash out feature has been taken off their site. They found that no one was using it and have decided to replace it with a test run for the mate-multi. Now when you create a multi bet the mate-multi icon will pop up in the Multibet section. All you need to do is click the mate multi icon and you will be taken to a new page where you just need to put in the amount you wish to spend and the email address and name of your friend. Sportsbet will take care of the rest. They even send out a nice Birthday card on your behalf.

For the first 100 customers who send a Mate Multi to a friend (up to $100 max), Sportsbet will also give you a free multi to the same value. How amazing is that. It’s a buy one get one free offer. I’ve got to say, I’ve given sportsbet nothing but flack on this website over the years, but they are clearly the world leader in bookmaking to not only see the potential in this great new concept but to also get it to market so quickly.

Do I get anything from this?

Always wanting to be upfront and honest, I do indeed get a cut of any profits generated from this feature. Sportsbet are giving me the general affiliate percentage of 30% of all money made from Mate Multi bets and new user acquisitions. Based on their predictions of the uptake of this feature, I could be sitting on a nice nest egg sooner rather than later.
