April 1st – April 7th +$18,944.72
The April fools tradition continues with a fair few of you once again falling for my prank. I had actually been setting up for another “I quit” post like last year, I had purposely been overly negative on the blog for the last week and a bit and I was going to go on a long rant about the fact that the maths guys had made me think that actually, it isn’t possible to make a profit from gambling and all I had been was lucky to this point. The timing was perfect with the recent poor run and I’m sure I would have got a lot of you. Instead I went for something a little more fun. I had a number of emails from members who had phoned Sportsbet but their support couldn’t help them and asked if I could sort the problem out for them. haha. I do enjoy a laugh, and a sense of humor is a necessary skill to have when betting, as things won’t seem funny most of the time.
Back to back profitable weeks and while not near where I would like to be, at least we have a bit of a profit buffer. This week saw me bet my 20 millionth dollar. If I can retain the 1.86% ROI I have achieved over the past 4 years and 9 months for the next 5 years and 3 months, I might just reach that $1 million goal in 10 years. Any long term gambler knows there are many supplemental ways to make some extra profit when betting and many are actually happy to break even each year as they can earn an extra 1-2% on each dollar bet. That $20 million has given me hundreds of thousands back in flights, hotels, cash back and other merchandise over the years. If I was to add in all the promotions on top of the cash-backs, we are well over the 500k profit mark (closer to 600k), but this blog is purely about just following services and if it is possible to make a profit from them. Once I finish my course, members will be able to see all the little tricks they should be using to increase their profits.
We welcomed back the AFL this week and today we also start with the MLB season. That actually reminded me that I was going to follow the H2H bets from Diamond Edge again this season and had forgotten to sign up. As always, the Sportpunter totals model is very strong and I will be following that as well. A solid first week for AFL with $6,600 profit. The first few weeks are traditionally the best time for AFL, so I am hoping to have some early success once again this season. After the horror few month run from the NHL, the last few weeks have been great with $5,000 more profit added this week. To round out a perfect week for Sportpunter, Rugby made $750 and the NRL model made $4,700. So no losing models this week for Sportpunter, and when that happens, Dailyprofit members are usually very happy as well.
ClubGowi lost $1,000 and could easily dip into negative territory in the coming weeks. I get more emails about this service than any other, as people join and quickly realise the results don’t reflect what is stated on the site and only then start doing research on the service. It really is not that hard to do a simple google search before signing up to a service. It will save you a lot of money in the long-term. Jason Kelly lost $100 on the Golf.
Onto the Soccer results and Football Elite made $2,700. The season started so well and I was hoping my last few years of losses with this service would be rewarded, sadly that has not panned out this season. Football Value lost $1,000, but once again had a winner where I was already on the opposite side. I do keep records of how each service really performs, so when I do my season reviews of each service, I will be able to give a proper reflection of it’s performance. TFA made $4,900 and Winabobatoo added $1,600. Football Investor lost $2,800, betting against tipster also lost $1,300 and my own personal bets lost a further $1,270.
Another fine week and as I keep saying, you just never know when the good (or bad) runs will happen. You just keep betting each week just like the last, over and over and over again. It does get difficult in down periods, but you just need to persevere and if you have done the fundamentals right, you eventually get rewarded. We will wait and see what next week brings.
Total Profit for the week was $18,944.72

Good work mate.
Loving your words of wisdom about negative times.
Ups and downs will come, but keep your head in the game, controlling the things that can be controlled.
I seem to remember that you don’t like stock market investing, but I’m into that as well as sports punting. I wanted to share an awesome quote from that world that sort of fits your mindset with punting.
” Time in the market is more important than timing the market.”
Anyway, cheers for your hard work.
I really appreciate it.
Hey Mattx,
I’m a big fan of stocks, and have a large chunk in the market. I just believe that betting (when done correctly) offers a much better return for less risk. Currently reading Tony Robbins Money book.
Stocks require no work which is great. Buy index funds, set and forget. You will beat 96% of managed funds.
