Another profitable but very frustrating week. Was so close to breaking even many times this week and I just want to move into profit and start making some money early in the year instead of treading water like all of last year before one or two great months. It’s stupid but I would rather start well and take $100,000 profit for the year then lose all year until the final month and make $200,000. Lucky I have no real say in these results after I select my bank sizes so my stupidity can’t get in the way of the profit.
Another low turnover week but this week included the first Soccer bet of the season. A FB Elite bet that continued on from last years form with a $1,000 loss. Tennis also has been on a massive slide lately, all this week we were against Nadal for large stakes and in the early rounds it looked like it might pay off, but he won the tournament and cost me $2,400. The only other losses this week were from AFL H2H bets ($1,200) and Nics Picks Golf ($553), but I was agonisingly close to a great start with a 2nd and 4th place. Shame I stopped following places.
AFL line bets had my heart in my mouth this week with St Kilda finally beating a line, they have been so close to beating lines this season and the model seems to love them but they just keep losing by a point or two. This week the Line bets made $4,800. OTP NRL is going great guns and made another $1,700 this week and MLB H2H had a great night last night to end the week $3,000 in front, I need an even bigger turnaround for MLB in the coming months.
One more week in London before flying 1st class to New York (gotto love those frequent flyer points). This time next week, lets hope I have wiped that last $2,400 loss from the total and am well on my way to that $200,000 mark.
Total profit for the week was $4,551.10

Hey there,
Great blog, keep it up. Your doing great and I wish you all the best. I never comment but always follow.
One thing caught my eye from a few posts ago, you were saying how even Pinnacle limited you on the Blue Square League, parlays, to $130. I know they have predefined limits on parlays, usually 50% as to what they offer for the Moneyline. The limits for the ML varied last season between $500 and $1000.
Pinnacle does not limit their customers, so what am I missing? Thanks.
Hey Livioo,
Thanks for the comment, always good to know I’m not writing just to myself.
Yeah, I found it strange too, I think the max bet was $280 on the game when I tried to bet (and this was very close to the start of the match). It was a real pain too as I had to place a heap of bets and the odds kept going down.
I will keep an eye on it in the early part of this season and if it keeps happening will email Pinnacle and ask for an explanation.
Hey Steve – was just wondering if your frequent flyer points had been built up through gambling deposits, and if so, which card are you with?
Thanks
There are very few left these days that don’t charge a cash advance on deposits to sportsbooks. I am using the ANZ FF one and that happily still works, no idea for how much longer though.
