Football Investor 2013/14 Review

Let’s start the end of season reviews with an easy one. Football Investor and more specifically the Combo bets.

In last years review of the service, my number one criticism was that the recorded odds were not achievable. I believe Stewboss took this on board and this season changed the way he quoted odds which ended up being much fairer. Last season my odds were 3.7% worse then those quoted, this year the difference is a tiny 0.1%. This is a combination of fairer odds being posted and me learning over the years how to get the best possible prices. A big thumbs up to Stewboss for a great change.

Most tipsters put up inflated odds because without them they would never show a profit, so the question that needs to be asked is if this service is profitable when quoting fair odds? That’s a big fat YES. This season my return was a very impressive 7.3% ROI. Easily the best return of the 5 soccer tipsters I follow. Sadly for me it is also the lowest staked, with a turnover of $146,715. I ended the season $10,716.38 in profit.

Lets see how my results compared to the official ones.

My Results $146,715.00 $10,716.38 7.3%
Official Results $139,000.00 $11,715.00 8.4%

You will notice it seems I have bet $7,715 more, but this is simply a case of my spreadsheet adding refunded (cancelled due to weather) bets. So I also bet $139,000 and my ROI should be 7.7%. Above I stated my odds were only 0.1% worse, and the difference between these results are 0.7%. The reason is because a few more winners odds would have shortened.

As you can see by the graph, it did not start well and took a few months before it got into profit. Once it hit profit in late December, it went on a great run before giving some profit back at the end of the season (a familiar situation to last year).

I’m keeping this review short as it’s a simple case of you being an idiot if this tipster was not part of your portfolio. You can sign up here.
