January 2013 review -$3,173.81
Thought I’d also post a monthly total this year.
$346,988.00 was bet for a $(3,173.81) loss, which is a -0.91% ROI. The highest point was the 17th with the total profit standing at $24,449.80. So as you can imagine, the second half of the month was an absolute disaster. The lowest point was the 25th where the P/L for the month stood at -$(10,927.87). That means in an 8 day period I lost over $35,000. Ouch.
The only bright spot for the month was the start of the ATP model, with $60,954.00 bet for a $14,770.60 profit at a 24.2% ROI. Basketball had it’s traditionally terrible start to the year with $79,934.00 bet for a loss of $(10,674.46) that’s a ROI of -13.4%. Soccer also had a terrible month with $206,100.00 bet for a loss of $(7,269.95) which is a ROI of -3.5%.
As mentioned earlier, ATP had a stellar start, the big loser was Football Investors Combo bets, losing $(9,154.50) at a ROI of -25.1%. The other big loser was NBL Totals, losing $(5,431.08) at -31.6% ROI.
NBA totals and H2H lost a combined $3,621 and that’s enough for me to believe that the model does not perform after the new year and I will stop following it. That means the only sports I am currently following are now Tennis, Soccer and NBL. March will see the addition of AFL.
Not a massive loss, but when the month starts so well and then ends in a negative, it is a real kick in the nuts.
