Ctrl C, Ctrl V. Pretty much a replica of last week. In a strong position of +39k on Saturday night and some huge bets Sunday brings it back down to a profit I have no right to ever whinge about. But when has that ever stopped me. A massive $8,000 line bet on the swans was the big disappointment, they just can’t seem to put poor teams away. I enjoy this slow period (not in the sense of profit or loss), but the amount of bets each day is minimal. Just the MLB each day and the AFL, NRL and Golf on the weekends. Once again a bit of a milestone as I am now over $400,000 profit since I started. I was in the same situation 6 months ago and quickly retreated back under it, hopefully this time I hit +500k instead.
Before I get into the weekly wrap, some industry news. I prattle on about how there is barely any innovation in the space, but slowly, more and more new features are coming out. In the pipeline for Sportsbet is a punters club feature and a few other new initiatives. Not sure on the time frame, but it always pays to look at any new features as the people who create them do not always think through the entire product and sometimes there is a little profit to be made if you’re smart.
Sportpunter AFL had it’s biggest ever week of bets. Massive overlays on nearly all the games. The most entertaining was the huge Western Bulldogs comeback, kicking 10 goals in the last after only kicking 4 for the rest of the game. It made $12,450. The NRL went well with $2,750 profit and the MLB lost $3,850. Dailyprofit members made a small profit officially, but I always quote the worst possible line and that cost the results this week, as it lost by half a point. Luckily the vast majority of members took a better line and had a very decent week. I broke down the entire first years Sportpunter results here.
The Golf lost again, but we were in with a shot on a few players this week. Combined both tipsters lost $725. My own bets lost $350, betting against moving odds made $1,600 and it has only taken me two weeks to place my first wrong bet, luckily it won and added $1,050 profit.
A pleasing start to year 6. This week will be the quietest ever with no MLB for half the week. I won’t know what to do with myself. Well I do know what to do, I’m working on a little project that is nothing new, but will hopefully help you look at your betting from a new perspective. Details in the coming weeks.

Hi Steve,
Just curious, do you use the Kelly Criterion with SportPunter ?
Yes, it is factored into his spreadsheet. You put in your bank and the kelly fractional you wish to use
