Jun 15th – Jun 21st -$2,455.43
Another testing week. I was ready to give it all up on Saturday night, down to just $8,000 profit for the year. Sunday arrived and a welcome recovery back up to $16,000, before another mini slump to end the week in a small loss. No idea where I am going to go from here, I thought after a year of doing this I would have all the information necessary to know what I was going to do in regards to a betting career. Instead, it feels as though I’ve been running in place the entire year. I’ve learnt a few things and there are many mistakes I’ve made that won’t be repeated, but I’m still not any wiser on if this is a viable path for future profits. There are a few sports which look to offer consistent profit, do I use the Pareto principle and concentrate on the 20% of bets that make up 80% of my profit, or do I keep a diversified portfolio so the swings aren’t so wild? I just don’t know.
This week saw not much bet on baseball as it is inter-league and the model has historically performed poorly over this period, so instead of trying to figure out a profitable angle, we just don’t bet it. There will be no bets until the start of July. AFL has had me losing what was once quite a full head of hair, since the day I said I had total faith in this model, it has been week after week of losses, and most of them not even close. Another $3,400 loss on the week, which could have been so much worse if the last bet of the round didn’t get up for a big win. Tennis made a small profit due mainly to the WTA. This week should be a big one for the tennis model with Wimbledon in full swing. NRL sucked again. As did Golf. Golf is one week away from hitting the -$10,000 target and being scrapped completely. Formbet made a small profit on the week.
Almost $3,000,000 now bet for the year. I believed that worst case I would be making 2% ROI, so would be around $60,000 profit at this stage. Instead I’m $46,000 short of that. The only bonus I have is a massive amount of Frequent Flyer points. This allows half my plan to become reality (travel while betting), now if only the actual betting part could show some promise.
