SPORT, SPORT, SPORT, SPORT…… did I mention there’s a bit of sport on at the moment? This week had it all. World Cup, Wimbledon, State of Origin, Golf, and all the regulars. I’m sure there are a heap of upset wives and girlfriends who haven’t seen their clearly superior halves in a few weeks. I can make comments like that on this blog as 99% of you are males. But the role our better halves play in our gambling might make a good article some day. Another fantastic week for me and with only 6 days left in my 4th year, I can now safely say I will make over $100,000 in a season for the first time ever. Congratulations and gifts can be sent my way. Although, with a baby on the way, all that profit has already been spent, new car, fixing the house up, Nappies, dear god so many nappies. I’ll leave much of the celebrating till the yearly review, but it’s been one hell of a year and I’d love to end it with a bang, some profit would also be nice.
The upgraded Tennis models started last night and I have started following WTA once again. Not the best of starts with a $1,900 loss for the womens, and the mens had a good start earlier in the week for $2,600 profit. The AFL has kicked into gear the last 2 weeks after a pretty bad slump, a tiny loss on the H2H, but less then $200 shy of $20,000 profit for the line bets. The baseball totals have been rubbish the past few weeks and lost $4,000 this week to wipe out all the profit from the good start it had. NRL made $1,550 to wrap up another great Sportpunter week.
ClubGowi went nowhere this week and lost $1,000. Diamond Edge has made a nice comeback with $2,500 profit and PCG broke even. Both Golf tipsters lost for a further $450 loss.
I’m hoping the AFL performs as well as it did this week to end my season somewhere above the $150,000 mark. Next week I will start looking at how I will record my bets next season, there are a number of good spreadsheets and online versions available now. Betdog has a public profile option which would allow me to show you every bet I place, which seems like a pretty cool idea. Hoping to end the year on a high and get cracking on year 5.

While Grand Slams offer a degree of consistency, you might want to exercise some caution using the new tennis models on grass. Traditionally – IMO – the most difficult surface to punt on (fewer games, fewer specialists on surface, shorter grass ‘season’)
Thanks Mark, i think traditionally the model has done well at the tournament. But who knows with the new one.
