Perfect timing as my 5th year ends on a Tuesday. Sadly we end my final week of year 5 with a small loss. This update is so late because the spreadsheet I use only had room for 10,000 bets and I ended the season with 10,047 bets. That’s 27.5 bets per day. The spreadsheet (to put it nicely) shat itself and no calculations would work. I had to export all the data and import it into a brand new spreadsheet. This also gave me a chance to see any pending bets (which all look like losers and have been marked that way). I will go into more detail about the years betting in an upcoming post. This year has been my worst by far and while I am happy to post a profit, it has been the least fun I have had betting since the start.
This period is very quiet as I am only following Sportpunter and a few Golf tipsters. AFL made $1,800, Rugby made $800, NRL lost $3,150 and MLB lost $4,800. Dailyprofit members broke even for the week on Sportpunter selections.
In the Golf we had a $500 loss for Jason Kelly and a $250 loss for Betswot. I have also graded the long term Gowi bet on Bubba Watson to win the Money-list as a loss. He did win this weekend but is a long way back. That added a further $1,200 loss for the week. My own Personal bets added $2,200 profit.
So that ends 5 years (or 1826 days) of betting. We are half way through my 10 year experiment and like any good scientist I keep learning new and interesting things. I keep making mistakes and breaking things in the hopes of stumbling my way to a great discovery (making consistent profits from betting). I have bet a total of $21,886,032.30 in that time and a profit of $386,058.30 has been made. I will need to speed things up a little if I am to hit my $1,000,000.00 goal by the end of my 10th year.
Today I start my new Spreadsheet for year 6, which now means my stupid brain will once again start over and be happy or sad based on pure timing and variance.
