Daily25 Betting Blog

Mar 11th – Mar 17th -$22,573.46

This period has been a real bitch to deal with. After 8 and a half months, $5.25 million bet over 7,571 bets and countless hundreds of hours of effort put in, I now sit on a $679 loss. The range of profit and loss this year has been pretty big. From a low of -$53,000 to a high of just shy of $80,000. A range of $133,000. In October as I sat on that large loss, I was hoping for a break even year. But just a short 3 and a half months later I was thinking my first $200k year could be on the cards. Making these predictions is stupid, but we all like to extrapolate data and assume it will continue on in the same way. The question is, after 5 years of doing this, do I still get pissed off? How do I deal with it?  I’m positive every single one of you reading this has been through a similar situation (especially if you are a current Dailyprofit member). Just like any investment, we risk our funds in the hope for a future gain. But like the stock market, our profit graph goes through peaks and troughs.March17th

Yes I still get pissed off, there are very few people in the world who enjoy losing money. In our society (sadly), money = success. You all read my weekly ramblings and trust in my advice because you believe I am a success. The only thing you base that off is my profit. I could come up with articles that would help everyone, but if I was a losing gambler, no one would care what I had to say. We don’t want to replicate failure, we just want the success. Sadly without many thousands of small failures, I would not be the so called success I am now. So yep, I still get pissed off. I’m seasoned and rational enough now where it doesn’t piss me off as much as the early days, but there will never be a time where I like losing fistfuls of cash (strip joints being the exception).

I deal with these losses in a few different ways. The last 6-12 months I have really let my routine slide and I have noticed that I am much more stressed then I used to be. This has led to weight gain and numerous bouts of the man flu.The beauty of reaching parity again for the year is that I can treat this as my new years eve again. We all love to make resolutions on new years and I’ve resolved to get back into my routine, the same routine that has helped me deal easily with past setbacks. There’s no great secret to this, if you look after yourself (mind, body and soul), the rest pretty much takes care of itself. My routine consists of very simple things that cover all 3. For the mind I dedicate 1 hour each day to reading, it can be anything that I find enjoyable. The body side of things I have really not concentrated on lately. My routine has me walking for at least an hour a day, the extra benefit of this is I can also listen to podcasts (a double hit for the mind). I’m not a religious guy, the soul aspect is more just about being happy with myself. Meditation (a simple 5 minutes a day), is all that is needed to be able to deal with everything life throws at you. Once you can sit still for 5 minutes and concentrate on nothing, it helps you be calm in stressful situations. I also like to follow the teachings of Seneca, a stoic philosopher.

It’s all quite simple and once the routine has stuck again, it takes very little effort and the rewards are amazing. Give just one of these a try and you’ll notice a drastic impact on your life. It also helps you to not lose your head when you are in profit as well.

So while i’m a little miffed about my current situation, I am more thankful for being able to make a fresh start on my routine once again. Let’s look at this weeks losses.

Sportpunter once again had a horror week with all models losing. I don’t remember a sustained period of losses lasting this long for the service. The AFL pre-season has been a nightmare, with a further $3,900 lost this week. The NHL totals has fallen of a cliff, picked itself up and fallen of a cliff that was at the bottom of the first cliff. A further $2,900 lost this week. The Rugby lost $1,000 and the NRL lost $3,300. Poor Dailyprofit members who joined in the past 3 months. As always, if any service can get me out of this, it’s Sportpunter. Year after year it continues to be my rock. I have no doubt it will steady itself in due time.

ClubGOWI lost $3,050 this week and is now back to an insignificant profit. If I was following the blue type selections I would be negative for the service after more then a years worth of betting. Jason Kelly lost $325 in the golf.

Onto Soccer and Football Elite made $450. Football Value broke even, but he did have a winner that I backed against with other tipsters. The service is actually break even if I had taken all the bets. TFA made $7,410. It’s funny that last year I made a substantial loss while most other members made a profit, and this season most others are losing and I am well ahead. Winabobatoo lost $3,200 and I’m happy I can only get on about one quarter of the bets as I would be down $15,000 more this season. Football Investor had the worst week in a very long time, losing $8,400. Stew has taken ill and there will be no bets this week, I wish him a very speedy recovery. My own personal bets lost $2,700 and betting against tipsters lost $1,600.

That wraps up a month of solid losses ($63,365). Only 2 from 12 models returning a profit. I keep reminding myself how much I saved when I was in the states and how bad the picture could really be. While it feels like a wasted 8 and a half months, the up side is that I’m still break even for the year and not in a deep hole. We continue on and maybe make a sacrifice or two to the gambling gods over the next few weeks. I continue into a new week with trepidation and hope.

Total Loss for the week was $22,573.46
